Rock Type: Chloritized biotitite
Description: Biotite grains (orange-yellow) have been chloritized (green) along grain margins and cleavage planes. The coarse biotite-phlogopite solid solution grains make-up 70% of the thin section. They commonly contain fine-grained ilmenite grains (black) and ilmenite development along cleavage planes. Chloritized biotite with Fe-Ti liberated during retrogression to form clots of coarse-grained ilmenite. The rock was studied for its titanium-vanadium potential.
